Welcome to the Nova Scotia Real Estate Appraisers Association (NSREAA), where you will find information regarding the appraisal profession in Nova Scotia, including the registration requirements, professional development programs, and an outline of the education courses required for the CRA and AACI designations.

The Nova Scotia Real Estate Appraisers Association became a self-regulating association under Provincial Statute (Bill 86), The Real Estate Appraisers Act. This means that anyone engaged in the practice of real estate appraisal within the meaning of the Act must be a registered member of the Nova Scotia Real Estate Appraisers Association. Our association has the responsibility in the province of Nova Scotia to:


  • Regulate the practice of Real Estate Appraisal and its members in accordance with the Act and the Association By-laws.
  • Establish, promote, and advance the interests of persons engaged in the practice of real estate appraisal.
  • Establish, maintain, and develop standards of knowledge, skill, and efficiency in the practice of real estate appraisal.
  • Establish, maintain, develop and enforce standards of professional ethics and practice for its members.
  • Promote public awareness of the profession and the role of the Association and real estate appraisal in co-operation with other professional associations in order to serve and protect the public interest.
  • Encourage studies in real estate appraisal and provide assistance for special studies and research.






The Nova Scotia Real Estate Appraisers Association
maintains
its liaison  with the Appraisal Institute of Canada through a Memorandum of Understanding with AIC.
